The location couldn’t be more central. The Pousada de Lisboa, member of Small Leading Hotels, occupies a section of the former Royal Palace and Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Praça do Comércio. As one of the most emblematic buildings in town, it was subject to a major rehabilitation project, and the City Museum even lent several pieces that now "live" in the hotel: litters of the sixteenth century, sculptures and even a replica of the Saint Vincent panels that now frame the courtyard where the restaurant offers Portuguese signature cuisine. Last but not least, the great majority of the 99 rooms have a beautiful view to the Palace Square (as the square is also known), to the São Jorge Castle or the Tagus River.
